tellsloanwhatsup started as an Instagram page. Somewhere to put the things I was into and show them to my friends.
The name comes from Entourage. Sloan is the one Eric keeps circling back to across the whole run of the show, the person who actually matters to him underneath everything else going on. The handle turns that into a joke about taste. Sloan stands in for the things I feel that way about, and telling Sloan what's up is just me talking about them to whoever will listen.
What started as posting clips turned into something closer to research. I'd come across a piece of footage, get curious about what was happening around it, and end up hours deep in old forum threads and court filings and scanned magazines. The posts got longer. Eventually they stopped fitting in a caption.
So this is where the longer versions live. Whatever my brain won't let go of, on the chance yours works the same way.
Not all of it is old. Most of what happens now is echoing something that already happened, and the story usually gets better when you follow it backwards.
